FREDDIE Z & BAND
THE ACT OF UNCOMPROMISING INTENSITY !!!
Anything can happen and usually does at an FZ show! So pack up the
scuba gear and hire a house sitter because you can never be under-prepared
for this performance!
Freddie Z & Band is original music with a sound that pulls from
many different sources. From funk to smooth and sultry love songs Freddie
Z has built these songs on the rock! People have been known to describe
certain tunes of theirs as the love child of Tom Waits and Led Zeppelin.
Freddie Z & Band will dig you deep and lift you up in ecstasy with
their soaring melody and message!
Since the release of his debut EP THE BIG RED E in November of 2000,
Freddie has enjoyed a positive response from followers and peers alike.
"An energetically soulful performance
" says fan Jeremy
Skiff, one of many who dedicatedly attend Freddies shows.
Bass, drums and three-part harmony in tasty arrangement can only make
a good thing better and in this case its all too true. With Joe
Orlyk on bass / vocals and Will Railton on drums and vocals, the bands
sound becomes larger that the sum of its parts.
"Freddie has caught the ear of the local music scene with his
first album release 'The Big Red E.' With folk rock tunes that are smart,
uplifting and radio-ready, he's poised to take off nationally. We're
predicting he'll be the next big hit to emerge from Lena's Open Mic,
on the heels of Ani DiFranco and G. Love."

"Freddie Z is one of those enviable musical people. His guitar
work is full of experimentation and funky rythms, and his singing is
emphatic, energizing, and outstandingly skillful. His folk-rock originals
will stick with you long after you leave the show."

Freddie Z. is one kinetic character. His performances percolate with
unexpected energy, twisting and turning from one thought or musical
motif to the next. Similarly, his songs have an uncommon breadth --
of emotion, of subject and of sound -- but each bears his indelible
mark."
